What’s so special about Noble Inn?

For one thing, it’s a beautifully restored Queen Ann Revival home. Built in 1904 by none other than June D. Drake, renowned Father of Silver Falls State Park, it is a home with a wonderful history. Mr. Drake planned, organized, and labored from 1902 to 1933 to get the Silver Falls Area set aside as a protected natural treasure. He succeeded. Today Silver Falls State Park is the largest state park in the State of Oregon.

So, history has already been made in this house. In fact, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. So, history could be made here again, but this time by you and your fellow enthusiasts as you prayerfully plan to do something great for the glory of God and the good of others. We would love to host a planning retreat for you alone, with your spouse, or with your team.

That is what makes Noble Inn special. On your first stay, it may be just a high-quality Christian Bed & Breakfast where you get to enjoy a quiet place to get away from all the pressures of life and work. On your 2nd stay, it may be the place where noble plans are made.

If you are a Christian foreign missionary or a pastor, you may come for a FREE night or two of rest and respite, with ample time to read, study, pray, think, recharge and maybe even beegin to dream again.

If that dream is great enough, you can gather your team of fellow enthusiasts for another stay to envision how you might participate more effectively and wonderfully in whatever God is doing in your particular situation, whether it be household, business, church, mission, or other organization. How might God use you to make history again in this old house?

But the noble man makes noble plans,
and by noble deeds he stands.
— Isaiah. 32:8 (NIV 1984)

Even though we have not yet met you, Bonnie and I are already praying for you and preparing for your visit. We pray, “God bring us Christian visionaries in every area of Christian service. Let them bring their bold, “crazy,” seemingly “unrealistic” God-inspired ideas that will only be possible by faith. Let them stay with us, as noble men and women, to make truly noble plans, and then to follow through with those plans with whatever noble deeds are needed to make their vision come true.”

this old House is also Our Home!

My dear wife, Bonnie and I live here at The Noble Inn year-round. It’s our home. Our quarters are located at the back of the house. We are a Christian home and the atmosphere reflects this.

Bonnie and I quietly wear all the hats needed behind the scenes to make this place a joy for you to stay in. We serve God by serving you as your innkeepers, cooks, butlers, housekeepers, gardeners, and groundskeepers.

Upon request, we can also serve you as experienced discussion facilitators and idea sounding boards. If you like we may encourage you along your path of life as seasoned biblical Christian marriage, family, parenting, and financial counselors, coaches and advisors, and even workshop/seminar instructors. I (Gregg) have over 256,000 alumni families from my various educational events since 1983). As a Teaching Elder in our local church, I can serve by teaching the Bible on many topics whenever you desire.

When all goes well, I (Gregg) can serve you as a wedding or marriage recommitment officiant in our parlor, or (as weather permits), for a larger group outdoors under our pergola. Our outdoor wedding venue can host up to 80 guests.

Bonnie and I are ready. So, how can we serve you?

Our Guest Room Rates

Though we are not “in this for the money,” we do have substantial expenses to cover. Our donating sponsors and our paying guests underwrite the costs of our free pastoral and missionary guest stays. So here is how it works:

Each of our guest rooms has been furnished and decorated with the “Name Sake” of that room clearly in mind, with autobiographies, biographies, and other relevant books and items related to their life story on display to teach and inspire our guests to follow the hero of the faith’s example. Dear Pastors & Missionaries, “Come away to a quiet place and get some rest.”

Church Pastors Seeking a Respite Retreat & Foreign Missionaries on Furlough in the United States May Stay at Noble Inn Free of Charge.

Having served as a Pastor/Teaching Elder at several churches since 1978, and serving now as such at Gracious Cross Reformed Church in Salem, Oregon, I know it is never easy to do a good job in that high-pressure ministry. And, as one who has known and supported missionaries throughout my Christian life, I know how difficult it can be to come back to the United States to reconnect with supporting churches and recruit additional supporters. So, Bonnie and I have decided in the light of God’s Word to invest some of our “unrighteous mammon” in these two categories of guests. This is one great way we can lay up for ourselves eternal treasures in heaven. So, attention all local church pastors seeking a respite retreat (with or without your wives), and all foreign missionaries on furlough (with or without your families): You may stay here at Noble Inn, free of charge.***

To book your stay, please call or text us at 503-926-1388.

Here is an example of the kinds of terrariums that I create at Silver Falls Terrariums.

Plant Your Own Terrarium While You Are Here.

Right next door to The Noble Inn you will find Silver Falls Terrariums, our small retail shop. We offer 10 terrarium planting classes each week. Guests of The Noble Inn are always welcome to participate in any terrarium class free of charge. We waive the $60 registration fee so that you would pay only for whatever terrarium you choose to plant (starting at $49).

By the way, while you are here we would be happy to present to you what we see as the biblical wisdom of Christians being self-employed in the world today and the biblical business principles that allow for the surprising financial success that can come from such a small business enterprise.

Our Plant Your Own Terrarium Class is offered free of charge to all guests of The Noble Inn. Guests pay only for the terrariums they choose to plant.

There are so many good reasons to make The Noble Inn part of your life.
